چکیده
The comparative effect of the uptake of fresh and degraded detritus of halophytic plants, harvested from salt marches of the Mont Saint-Michel Bay (France), on the growth of a juvenile population of the annelid polychaete N. diversicolor (L.) was studied under experimental conditions in summer 1993. Fresh and degraded detritus of Spartina anglica, Halimione portulacoides and Salicornia europeae, as well as the green algae Enteromorpha sp. were distributed separately to homogenous set of juveniles for a 75 d period. The highest growth rate was obtained for worms fed with Enteromorpha sp. Administration of fresh detritus of a given halophyte species to N. diversicolor juveniles always leads to a significantly higher growth rate than did degraded detritus. This is probably due to a great microbial biomass occurring on the fresh detritus, which is moreover, much better assimilated than the detritus they colonize. © 2002 Ifremer/CNRS/IRD/Éditions scientifiques et médicales Elsevier SAS. Comparison of growth rate and fatty acid profile of Nereis diversicolor fed with faeces and food of rainbow trout
Rainbow trout farms released always a large amount of organic matter into the environment, resulting in environmental contamination. If these waste can be used as a food source for the production of a secondary organism such as Nereis diversicolor, in addition to increasing production, it will reduce the volume of contamination originating from fish farms. In this regard, determining the nutrit...

Abstract This study was conducted to test the effect of bioremediation the polychaete worm Nereis diversicolor in order to removal of wastewater nutrition derived different densities Huso huso. The aim of this study was determination of different densities for creating the equivalence for rearing of N. diversicolor and H. huso rate in the integrated culture system. Three different densities of ...

The feeding ecology of Nereis diversicolor (O. F. Müller, 1776) (Annelida: Polychaeta) was studied over 14 months at three estuarine-lagoon systems of the Southwest coast of Portugal (Odeceixe, Aljezur and Carrapateira). The analyses of digestive tract revealed that diet change according to site, period of the year and individual sizes. There are no differences in the digestive contents between...

The ability of the common brackish water polychaete worm Nereis diversicolor O. F. Miiller to regulate osmotically and ionically has been well established (Schlieper, 1929; Beadle, 1937; Smith, 1955; Hohendorf, 1963; Oglesby, 1970; and others). Jergensen & Dales (1957) demonstrated an uptake of chloride against the concentration gradient at low salinities, with a maximum rate of exchange under ...
متن کاملRole of biotic interactions on seasonal migrations of the macrozoobenthos living in the upper tidal-flat of the Mont-Saint-Michel bay, France
− On the tidal flat of the western part of the Mont-Saint-Michel bay, the macrozoobenthos of the upper flat is characterised by an assemblage of the Macoma balthica community. The dominant species are M. balthica, Nereis diversicolor and Corophium volutator. A field monitoring during a 1-year period along a four-stations transect perpendicularly to the shore showed that biotic interactions affe...
